Recycling Guidelines:
Why Recycle?
-
Recycling prevents materials that have economic value from going to waste.
-
Recycling is responsible for expanding the lifespan of our landfill.
-
Recycling conserves natural resources such as timber, water and minerals.
-
Recycling creates jobs. For every job collecting recyclables, there are 26 jobs in processing the materials and manufacturing them into new products.
-
Recycling prevents pollution. Manufacturing with recycled materials, with very few exceptions, produces less air and water pollution than manufacturing with virgin materials.
-
Recycling can save you money. Each additional trash container comes at a cost. You can reduce the need for additional containers by recycling.
