The Hinton Landfill accepts municipal solid waste, construction and demolition waste from residents, private waste haulers and commercial businesses, taking in approximately 1,730 tons of garbage every day (daily average based on FY18 TCEQ Tonnage Report).
Please note - only brick and masonry goods that are 100% clean and free of trash, wire, and/or rebar will be accepted free of charge at the landfill.

Customers using the landfill must have loads enclosed or tarped. Find out more about tarping rules.
Changes to Hinton Landfill’s Site Operating Plan
Due to increased use of Hinton Landfill, a site operating plan modification has been submitted to TCEQ to increase the amount of waste accepted at the site.
Currently up to 1,500 tons per day are received at the landfill. The modification will allow for up to 3,000 tons per day and will prepare the site to meet future needs as the population of the region grows.
No change in daily waste acceptance will occur due to a change to the permit, and the waste acceptance rate is expected to be gradual.
