Fire Repair Permit
$5 for every $1,000 of valuation of the project.  In no cases is the permit fee less than $50 or more than $400.  There will be $40 per trade (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing).  Additionally, there is a $15 or 25% processing fee due at the time of permit submittal (whichever is the greater) and is non-refundable.

Prior to obtaining a permit for repairs the homeowner must ensure that all debris and damaged sheetrock has been removed and that the Building Inspection Department has done a "pre-fire inspection".

The pre-fire inspection is so ensure that the homeowner and / or contractor are aware of what repairs the City will require prior to allowing habitation of the space.

Once the pre-fire inspection has been completed the homeowner / contractor may apply for the building permit.  The above application must be submitted along with a scope of work (typically this is the scope that the insurance company provides once an adjuster has completed their process).

Depending on the severity of the fire damage, the homeowner / contractor may also be working with the City's Code Compliance Department.  When Code Compliance is working on a fire repair, Code has the final say as to when the structure is ready for habitation.
